Trillium Community Health Plan Appoints Emily Ann Farrell As Health Equity Administrator

Trillium Community Health Plan (Trillium) is pleased to announce the appointment of Emily Ann Farrell as the new Senior Director of Operations and Health Equity Administrator for Trillium and Health Net Health Plan of Oregon, Inc. (Health Net) effective May 9, 2022.

Ms. Farrell brings extensive experience in public service and a strong history of equity work to this position, most recently as Director of Senior & Disability Services with Lane Council of Governments, providing needed services and supports to seniors and adults living with disabilities in Lane County. Her prior career includes managing a law practice as a legal practitioner where she focused on assisting people through the aging process, including estate planning, senior legal services, advance healthcare directives, and more.

As Senior Director of Operations and Health Equity Administrator, Ms. Farrell will be responsible for the continuing execution of Trillium’s health equity strategy. She will purposefully and effectively collaborate with staff, providers and community-based organizations on initiatives specifically designed to address disparities in care and improve health outcomes, resulting in transformational change to the delivery of healthcare in our region.

“Public service and commitment to equity are the threads that tie my personal and professional worlds together,” said Ms. Farrell. “In my various roles, I’ve developed partnerships with multiple agencies to address social determinants of health and ensure high-risk and vulnerable community members have access to food, services, and COVID vaccination clinics during the pandemic, restructured hiring practices to build equity and stability, and provided volunteer services for organizations seeking to transform our systems in the areas of healthcare and human rights. I’m excited to build on this work at Trillium and Health Net, contributing to initiatives to ensure continued access to care and services for our underserved communities.”

Ms. Farrell currently holds positions on a number of boards and workgroups, including the City of Eugene Human Rights Commission-Economic Opportunities Workgroup, the national Board of Directors for USAging, the Oregon Association of Area Agencies on Aging and Disabilities (O4AD), and Trillium Community Health Plan. She has previously served on the boards for the HIV Alliance and the Lane County Bar Association, as well as served as a volunteer attorney for both the Lane County Legal Aid and Advocacy Center Senior Law Program (now Oregon Law Center) and UO Domestic Violence Legal Clinic.

Ms. Farrell, who is conversant in Spanish, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Political Science, and a J.D. with a concentration in Business Law.
