Workshop for Health Professionals

Thursday, March 10, 2022 - Thursday, March 10, 2022

12:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Infant carrying or "babywearing" is far from a new parenting trend. Come learn why this practice is central to what makes us human, as well as how this practice can disrupt the cultural and socioeconomic barriers to health equity for postpartum parents and their babies. Part I will cover the science of parent-infant physical contact from a biological, psychological, and cultural perspective - including data on how infant carrying can improve lactation, bonding, and mental health. Part II will be a demonstration of how safe infant carrying can be integrated into your current perinatal and pediatric practice.

  • DATE: Join us virtually March 10th 12-2pm (including optional in-person support and hands-on demonstration at the Nurturely Lounge for local Eugene attendees).
  • CME/CNE: 2.0 Continuing Education credits available for physicians, nurses, psychologists, birthworkers, traditional health workers, and more.
