Mentoring and Training Traditional Health Workers

Date: 09/20/22

As part of our ongoing commitment to increasing culturally responsive access to care for all Oregonians, especially historically underserved and marginalized populations, Trillium invests funding and staff resources in a variety of Traditional Health Worker (THW) education and training initiatives.

Kristinia Rogers, Trillium’s THW Liaison, is currently partnering with several community-based organizations to help their staff become Oregon Health Authority-approved community health workers (CHWs). Kristinia is meeting with and mentoring staff as they complete the training and application process.

In addition, Kristinia is participating in a statewide workgroup to develop the training curriculum for personal health navigators, as well exploring ways the curriculum for all types of THWs can include more culturally focused training and information specific to serving the BIPOC community.

Trillium has many Traditional Health Workers on our staff, and we’re looking for more THWs to join our team! Our THWs work closely with Trillium’s care managers and nurses to help members access care and improve health outcomes.

We are hiring Traditional Health Workers/Community Health Representatives to serve in the Lane County or Clackamas/Multnomah/Washington county areas. You can make a difference in the lives of our members and help build healthy communities. Read the job descriptions and apply here:
