Birth Doulas
Birth doulas are birth workers who are certified through the Oregon Health Authority’s Traditional Health Worker (THW) certification. Birth doulas provide personal, nonmedical support to pregnant people and their families. You can get support from a doula before, during, and after giving birth. Doulas are there to help you in person. You can get care from a doula during provider’s office visits, in hospitals, in birth centers, and in your home.
Birth doulas have been shown to lower the rate of C-sections, epidurals, and the length of labor. Trillium members can have access to a birth doula at no cost.
